Participant Safety

Comprehensive Background Checks

Safety First: Background checks are REQUIRED for all Coaches and Staff. We have partnered with CHECKR, a leading national provider, to ensure the safety of every child.

🛡️ Why We Screen

We implement screening for three specific reasons:

To promote a safe, supportive environment for youth athletes.
To provide peace of mind for parents entrusting us with their children.
To ensure we are partnering with the best volunteers in the community.

*Screening is designed as a preventative risk management tool.

📋 Coach Expectations

Who: Any coach with direct contact with youth athletes (under 18).
Requirements: Full name, SSN, and DOB are required for the check.
Waiver: Coaches must also sign the "Code of Conduct."

Strict Enforcement:
Coach shirts and team rosters are NOT distributed until a background check has been completed and passed. No exceptions.

🚫 Disqualifying Criteria

Coaches will be immediately disqualified for convictions of the following:

Felony (Any crime punishable by confinement greater than one year)
Crimes involving force or threat of force against a person
Crimes in which sexual relations is an element (including "victimless" crimes)
Crimes involving controlled substances
Crimes involving cruelty to animals
