Draft Info for Coaches
This page is your playbook for how we build teams at Central Mass Flag Worcester. We use a draft system to keep the league fair, competitive, and fun for every kid.
Safe Picks Procedure
The only athlete(s) guaranteed to be on your team are the child(ren) associated with your account.
What is a Safe Pick?
These are players you specifically want on your team (friends, family, former players). You have the opportunity to get a maximum of 3 Safe Picks.
CRITICAL: YOU MUST E-MAIL ME YOUR SAFE PICKS OR YOU WILL NOT BE AWARDED ANY SAFE PICKS. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Conflict Rule: Should two (or more) coaches choose the same athlete as a Safe Pick, that athlete will no longer be "safe" and will be placed back into the general Draft pool.
The Draft is FINAL
Once the draft is over, teams are set. We WILL NOT move kids from one team to another.
(Even if you forgot to draft your nephew, and now your sister is yelling at you during Sunday dinner. True story. It happens. The draft is still final.)
Platform: OnlineDraft.com
We use OnlineDraft.com as our drafting platform. The system randomly selects the draft order.
To prevent pre-draft gaming, the order will not be determined or announced until moments before the Draft begins.
Snake Draft Format
The pick order is reversed each round. Each coach takes turns drafting via a back-and-forth order until rosters are full.
- Round 1: 1-6
- Round 2: 6-1
- Round 3: 1-6
AutoDraft & Buddies
Buddy Requests: These are noted on the draft form but are not guaranteed.
AutoDraft: AI will draft for a team if:
- There is no Coach assigned yet.
- A Coach is unable to attend the draft.
Siblings
Siblings are automatically drafted to the same team.
If you draft a player who has a sibling in the same division, the sibling will be automatically added to your roster and will count as your next pick(s).
Late Registrations
The draft is final, but not complete. Late adds are allocated to teams with the fewest players (or randomly if equal).
Anti-Stacking Rule:
If a Coach OR a Late Registrant asks to be placed on a specific team, we automatically DENY that request. That specific team is forfeited from the random draw for that player.
Draft Sheet Reference Columns
You will see this data on the draft board. Please note that all of this data is SELF-REPORTED by the parents.

Parent’s answer to: “Please rate the athletic ability of your child (5 being the strongest)”.

If you see an NFL Team listed, this is the team they were most recently on.

How Many Seasons:
Indicates how many seasons an athlete has played flag football.
